Patrick Plunkett is a soulful folk/rock/alt country singer/songwriter producing music steeped in influences from his home country.

Not long after his birth in Paris, Patrick’s family moved to Ireland where he grew up in a rich tradition of songwriters that began to mould his view on music. Patrick learned his craft listening to influences from home like Glen Hansard and Josh Ritter as well as sounds from overseas like David Bowie and The Band.

Unable to resist the allure of a culture rich city and travel Patrick relocated to London in 2006. Since then he has gigged extensively around London, released his debut EP “New Beginnings” in 2007, and won accolades like reaching the regional semi finals of the Surface Unsigned Competition 2009. January 2011 saw the release of Patrick’s second EP ‘Attracting Attention’ and Patrick can be found gigging tirelessly up and down the UK and Ireland promoting his new EP.

Reviews of Patrick:

"...a very appealing voice and he turns the loping 'Change' into an acoustic version of U2...." Hotpress, Dublin

"...the songs are good and he has a nice, tremulous voice..." www.thestoolpigeon.co.uk

"London is certainly not short of serious singer-songwriter types, so it's as well that Plunkett is pretty close to the top of the game. His AOR balladry has a pleasant country tinge to it, and he is very well served both by his backing musicians and by producer Tony White. The three songs included on New Beginnings could slot straight into the Radio Two playlist without anyone noticing." Sam Inglis, Sound on Sound

"...here is a pleasure you can enjoy without repercussion, no hangover cure needed I guess you could say. But that’s assuming the crowd aren’t booze hounds, even if they were Patrick Plunkett have the kind of sound that could soothe them easily. The blood that runs white hot is cooled to a pleasing temperature, a temperature that still manages to excite in a way that insights peace and love..." www.surfaceunsigned.co.uk

"His music evokes memories of some of the great male singer/songwriters of the past 10 years, people like Damien Rice, Glen Hansard and some of the more mainstream successes like Paulo Nutini, Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson, only with a harder rockier/americana edge. It was a true pleasure to see him play an acoustic set and I'm sure he'll be a rising star on the London music scene..." mrrichmuk.blogspot.com
